Description

Qualitative Interviewing, Second Edition has been totally rewritten to add new examples and to better integrate the presentation of topics. Readers will see how the choice of topic influences question wording and how the questions asked influence the analysis. Authors Herbert and Irene Rubin have improved the presentation of matters that students have most trouble with, such as finding an interesting and viable topic, recognizing concepts, learning when and how aggressively to follow up, and figuring out ways to get published.

5Excellent Resource for anyone doing Quali Interviews  Feb 01, 2010
I have read this book and found it to be a very helpful resource. As a novice interviewer it has given me multiple strategies and tips from question design to actually doing the interview. I highly recommend to anyone doing qualitative interviews.

5Doing Qualitative Interviewing  Aug 16, 2009
I had the opportunity to read the first edition and the second edition of " Qualitative Interviewing, the Art of Hearing Data" of H. Rubin and I. Rubin and I think that both are very good books for a student or researcher that want to start a Qualitative Analysis of Data using the Interview like the main tool of analysis. Of course that the second editions is actualized in relation to the latest advances in qualitative analysis and the use of personal computers. I am a student of the doctoral program of Management at ESADE ( Spain ) and ESAN ( Perú ).
